Clotilde Olyff - Pebble Alphabet

A recent trip to Clacton made me wonder if I could create a typeface from stones sea-worn into letters or approximations of letters. Digging around with a stick I found a few potential matches – but you really had to squint. No matter: someone has already done the leg and arm and eyework.

Left is Belgian designer and typographer Clotilde Olyff’s Pebble Alphabet. Upper case. There is also a lower case version, coming up.
